Virtues of Qiyam Al-Layl (The Night prayer) Part-1

Taraweeh, Qiyam Ramadan, Qiyam Al-Layl, Tahajjud, Witr – these are all names for the same prayer, a great Sunnah Mu’akkadah (during and outside of Ramadan). 

The Prophet (ﷺ) said about the great virtue of Qiyam Al-Layl during Ramadan: 

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِه“‏ 

Abu Hurairah (Radia-Allaahu ’anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever prays Qiyam during Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins.” [Sunan An-Nasa’i no. 1602]

Cornerstones for Raising and Educating Children

There are many great duties and trusts that the slave must take heed of in regards to children. It is a major responsibility of parents to raise, educate, discipline, advise and direct their children. Allaah (Ta’ala) says [Surat al-Anfaal (8:27-28)]:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَخُونُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوٓاْ أَمَـٰنَـٰتِكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
 وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٲلُڪُمۡ وَأَوۡلَـٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٌ۬ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُ ۥۤ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٌ۬
“O you who have believed, do not betray Allaah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].
And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allaah has with Him a great reward.” (more…)

The Day of ‘Ashoora’ symbolizes at-Tawheed

Introduction

The Day of ‘Ashoora’, which falls on the tenth day of the month of Muharram is a glorious day of great importance for Muslims and an attestation to the Tawheed of Allaah. The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) commanded his Companions and his nation to fast this day.

Due to the importance of belief in the life of the Muslim, it is very important for us to know the objectives and convictions that surround this day. The Great Glad Tiding: The Believer’s Fever is his Share of the Fire
