Water
Water is the resource of life, the best drink there is and one of the pillars of existence. Actually, it is the most important pillar of life, as Allaah has created every living thing from water.
Allaah says in Surat Al-Anbiyaa’ (21:30):
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
“Have they not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and earth were joined together as one united piece, and then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?”
Zam Zam water
Zam Zam water is the best, freshest, most beneficial, most beloved and most precious water there is. Furthermore, Zam Zam water was dug up by Jibril (Alayhis-Salaam) and is the source that Prophet Ismail (Alayhis-Salaam) drank from.
Narrated Jabir (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Zam Zam water is drunk for whatever intention.” [Ibn Abi Shaibah, Ahmed, Ibn Majah, and al-Baihaqi and authenticated by al-Albaani in Sahih al-Jamie’ no. 5502]. i.e. When you drink Zam Zam water with an intention for curing and healing; it will be as per Allaah’s whim; and if you drink it for quenching your thirst, it will do so, and so on depending on your intention.
Ajwa dates (dried pressed) dates
Sa’ad ibn Abi Waqqas (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) narrated that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever eats seven dates of Ajwah in the morning will not be harmed by poison or magic the rest of that day.” [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Narrated Abu Hurairah (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “The Ajwah is from Paradise, and it is an antidote against poison. The kama’ah (truffles) is a type of al-Mann and its water (extract) cures the eye.” [Ahmed, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah, and authenticated by al-Albaani in Sahih al-Jamie’ no. 4126] (Ajwah is a special kind of date found in Al-Madinah). (Kama’ah is a kind of mashroom that grows under the ground and is called Faqa’ in gulf area).
Covering containers
Muslim narrated in his Sahih that Jabir bin ‘Abdullaah (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) said, I heard the Messenger of Allaah (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: “Cover the pot and tie the knot of the water skin, for there is a night during the year in which a disease descends, and it does not leave an uncovered vessel or an untied water-skin but it will go into it.” In a narration Laith bin Sa’d said: Some non-Arabs fear that to be in December.
Olive oil
Allaah (Ta’ala) says in Surat An-Nur (24:35):
يُوقَدُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ
“Lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (neither it gets sunlight only in the morning) nor of the west (nor it gets sunlight only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to sunlight all day long), whose oil would almost glow forth, though no fire touched it.”
At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah and al-Hakim reported that Umar (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) related from the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) that he said: “Eat the Zait (oil) and embrocate (anoint) with it, because it is produced by a blessed tree.” [Al-Silsilah as-Sahiha by al-Albaani no. 379]
Black seed (Habba Sawdaa or Nigella seed)
In Sahih al-Bukhaari and Muslim it is reported that Abu Hurairah (t) related from the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) that he said: “There is healing in black seed for all diseases except death.”
The black seed has many benefits, as indicated by the Prophet’s (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) statement; “It is a cure for every kind of disease.”
For example: When the black seed is ground, blended with honey and drunk with some warm water, it will dissolve the stones that appear in the kidney and the prostate, and it is also a diuretic. Black seed oil helps against snakebites, hemorrhoids and spots. When around twenty –five grams of it is drunk with water, it can help against gasping and hard breathing.
Cow milk
Narrated Ibn Mas’ud (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Use cow milk because it is formed from all kinds of trees, and it is a healing for all diseases.” [Al-Hakim and authenticated by al-Albaani in Sahih al-Jamie’ no. 4059]
Also narrated Ibn Mas’ud (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Use cow milk for it is a medicine, and in its fat (butter) there is a healing. But avoid its meat because it is a disease.” [Al-Hakim, Ibn as-Sunni and Abu Na’iem, and authenticated by al-Albaani in Sahih al-Jamie’ no. 4060]
Also Ibn as-Sunni and Abu Na’iem reported that Suhaib (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) related that the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Use the milk of the cows, because in it is a healing, its fat (butter) is a medicine, and its meat is a disease.” [Al-Silsilah al-Sahiha no. 1943]
