It is obligatory for us to believe in the Shin of Allaah and not to deny it, because He – the Exalted – has told us of it. Allaah (Ta’ala) says: يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ (Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) […]
The Qur’an is undoubtedly the Word of Allaah. A great dispute occurred regarding this issue between the Mu’tazilites and the Ahl As-Sunnah, and many of the Ahl As-Sunnah were harmed because of it. From among those who were harmed was Imaam Ahmad (Rahimahullaah), the Imaam […]
Allaah’s affirmed Attributes are divided into two categories – those that relate to His Self and those that relate to His Actions. As for the Attributes of the former category, Allaah has and continues to be described by them. Examples of such Attributes are Knowledge, Ability, Hearing, Sight, Almightiness, Wisdom, Loftiness, and Greatness. Also, within […]

Allaah (Ta’ala) is praiseworthy in His Essence, Names, Attributes, and Actions. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names and the Most Noble and Perfect Attributes. He deserves all praise, love, and adulation (extolment) due to His perfect Attributes, beautiful kindness, bountiful gifts, and unparalleled justice, and due to His being attributed with Attributes of […]
The truthful person with Allaah is the one whose intention is to seek Allaah’s Pleasure alone in every situation and action. The one who is truthful with himself is continually checking his intentions and wills.
E.g. A person gives Zakaat to a needy helper at his work with a hidden intention of encouraging him to serve him there. Since this hidden intention is not for the sake of Allaah, Allaah may nurture him and make the helper leave him, or travel, or show him bad behavior, etc.
It is a kind of lying to oneself to claim something openly whilst having a hidden (evil, insincere) intention.
Out of Allaah’s Mercy, one will be tested (through a trial) to distinguish his truthfulness from falsehood. Allaah (Ta’ala) says in Surat Al-‘Ankabut [29:2-3]:
