Allaah, Glorified and Exalted, is the All-Strong. One of His Names is Al-Qawiyy (the All-Strong), and Strength is one of His Attributes. His Speech is powerful, and it encompasses strength from all its aspects. Allaah has set forth a practical example (parable) in the Qur’an to make us understand and reflect.

Don’t miss The Power of the Qur’an (Part 1)
One example of the Qur’an’s impact on the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, is illustrated in a Hadeeth reported by Abu Hurairah, (Radia-Allaahu ‘anhu) and recorded in Saheeh Muslim no. 125. When the verse (2:284) was revealed,
لِلَّهِ مَا فِي […]
Verily, fasting is a great opportunity for the purification of hearts and clearance of their filth, and a precious opportunity to brighten the souls by upgrading them to high statuses, noble ranks, and purification. However, that is only achieved if the one who observes the fast completes it perfectly. This is because not every fast […]
Ru’yah of Allaah (‘Azza wa Jall)
Seeing Allaah (Ta’ala) in the abode of the Hereafter is the noblest and highest of all the ranks, the most precious […]
The Day of ‘Ashoora’, which falls on the tenth day of the month of Muharram is a glorious day of great importance for Muslims and an attestation to the Tawheed of Allaah. The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) commanded his Companions and his nation to fast this day. Due to the importance of belief in […]
The Qur’an is undoubtedly the Word of Allaah. A great dispute occurred regarding this issue between the Mu’tazilites and the Ahl As-Sunnah, and many of the Ahl As-Sunnah were harmed because of it. From among those who were harmed was Imaam Ahmad (Rahimahullaah), the Imaam […]
The truthful person with Allaah is the one whose intention is to seek Allaah’s Pleasure alone in every situation and action. The one who is truthful with himself is continually checking his intentions and wills.
E.g. A person gives Zakaat to a needy helper at his work with a hidden intention of encouraging him to serve him there. Since this hidden intention is not for the sake of Allaah, Allaah may nurture him and make the helper leave him, or travel, or show him bad behavior, etc.
It is a kind of lying to oneself to claim something openly whilst having a hidden (evil, insincere) intention.
Out of Allaah’s Mercy, one will be tested (through a trial) to distinguish his truthfulness from falsehood. Allaah (Ta’ala) says in Surat Al-‘Ankabut [29:2-3]:
